Our Policies & Guidelines

We encourage guests to review our policies prior to their stay for a smooth and enjoyable experience. Our guidelines are designed to provide clarity and ensure every guest’s visit is comfortable and stress-free. By understanding these details in advance, you can relax and fully enjoy the hospitality and amenities offered at The Lodge at River Run.

General:

  • Room charge is based on double occupancy. An extra $50.00 charge will be applied for each additional guest. Room charges plus applicable taxes may be charged to either Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover credit card at the time your reservation is made.
  • A two-night minimum is required on all weekends. NC sales tax is 6.75%.

Cancellations:

A small inn such as ours is greatly affected by cancellations. We ask for your understanding and consideration of our policy. We will be happy to cancel your reservation, if needed. For cancellations prior to 14 days of your reservation, there will be a $30 fee per room. Any cancellations within those two weeks will not be refunded unless we can rent the room to another guest; we will make every effort to do so. Departures that are earlier than scheduled will be handled as cancellations; the same policy applies.

Check-In/Check-Out:

Check-in time is 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Please understand that we must prepare for your arrival and cannot welcome you prior to 4:00pm. If you are delayed and cannot arrive by 6:00pm, please call us. Late check-in will be between 6:00pm and 8:00pm, only by prior arrangement. Check-out time is 11:00am.

Additional Guests:

Our rooms are furnished to accommodate two individuals. However, our Cascades Room and River Watch Room can accommodate up to three guests, and our Mountain Laurel Room can accommodate up to four guests. An extra charge of $50.00 per night will be applied for each additional guest.

Smoking:

Our lodge is a non-smoking facility and we do strictly adhere to our policy.

Children:

We regret that we are unable to host infants or small children. Children 10 years and older are welcome.

Pets:

We love pets, but we are sorry that our inn is not equipped to welcome them. We ask that you make other arrangements for your four-legged friends.

Support or Therapy Animals:

While Emotional Support Animals or Comfort Animals are often used as part of a medical treatment plan as therapy animals, they are not considered service animals under the ADA. These support animals provide companionship, relieve loneliness, and sometimes help with depression, anxiety, and certain phobias, but do not have special training to perform tasks that assist people with disabilities. Even though some states have laws defining therapy animals, these animals are not limited to working with people with disabilities and therefore are not covered by federal laws protecting the use of service animals. Therapy animals provide people with therapeutic contact, usually in a clinical setting, to improve their physical, social, emotional, and/or cognitive functioning. Title III of the ADA
