Aren’t we all ready to have the ability to get out, smell the fresh air and let the sun shine on our face? I am!!!
The perfect place to come for that is the mountains of North Carolina. We have so much to offer and explore. This area is great place for hiking, swimming, horseback riding, fly fishing… need I go on….there is shopping, bike riding down the mountain, art fairs, tubing, white water rafting, zip lining and great restaurants. We have it all in the mountains!
To top it off, we have the best bed and breakfast around. We offer atmosphere with the river in back of the house, fly fishing, sitting by the fire pit and roasting marshmallows or having a glass of wine. The river lights at night are nothing short of spectacular, and to be able to listen to the sounds of the outdoors is pretty incredible. You may even see a deer or two!
Come enjoy our breakfast as we strive to make your day start with great food and a lot of TLC. We will be serving breakfast outside as soon as the weather permits. We have even had guests see bears swimming across the river. Don’t worry, we don’t have anything to entice them on this side of the river as we take all precautions so they won’t come and visit.
Preparations for the July 4th parade are taking place now. This is my favorite parade!! Banner Elk is so patriotic and the enthusiasm for the USA is contagious, There will be duck racing, crafts and food of all to enjoy the day. You will need to go early to claim a spot on the parade route. Over a thousand people come just to be a part of the celebration.
For those that love wine and beer, we have wonderful vineyards to visit. They even have bands play during the weekend and some during the week.
The Highland games are returning this year in July. People love to see the dancing, listen to the music and watch the games. Of course there will be plenty of food for you to experience too.
For those that love the arts and craft fairs, we will have one in July and August. I am always impressed with the quality of artisans at these events.
