I have decided it is always busy in the mountains. People love the weather, the laid back atmosphere and all the events that are available.
I wanted to give you highlights of some of the events that are in the area now. The 2017 Fine Arts and Master Crafts Festival is August 11-13 in Banner Elk. Admission is free. Concerts in the Park continue throughout the month of August on Thursday nights at Tate Evans Park at 6:30pm. Bring your chairs and enjoy an evening of entertainment. Art on the Greene is Saturday Sunday, September 2-3 with hand crafters exhibiting their wares in the Appalachian tradition. Looking ahead Oktoberfest is Saturday and Sunday, October 14-15 from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The 40th Wooly Worm Festival is Saturday and Sunday, October 21-22,2017. Be sure and mark your calendar to attend these fun-filled events.
