Tis the Season

The mountains are covered with snow and the ski season has begun.  The snow machines running and even mother  nature has helped as we have had snow several times.

Blowing Rock has already had their parade and lighting of the trees in the park.  Shopping in the quaint stores that line downtown Blowing Rock are a must when you come.  It really puts you into the Christmas spirit.  Banner Elk will have their lighting of the tree starting December 7th. followed by a day full of fun starting with Breakfast with Santa and ending with the Parade at 6:00pm.  Then their will be train rides through the Light show through the Park… of course Santa will be there to talk to the boys and girls.

This year we had a tree from Avery County chosen for the White House.  Larry Smith delivered his tree  a few weeks ago.  He was able to see it be decorated and said that it was an experience of a lifetime.

This area also donated over 17,000 trees to the Trees for Troops.  They are given to Military families for the holidays.

Come and enjoy the beautiful snow covered trees on the mountains as they are breathtaking.  There are so many activities in the area this time of year.
