Today we were again blessed with watching the snow fall. The trees are just beautiful as the branches are covered in ice and snow. The ground is a blanket of white and the river has sheets of ice. There is something amazing as I look out the window and see a winter wonderland.
If you ski, you are in heaven as the slopes are covered with snow. The base is over 28″. We have had guests that have had fun at Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain and Hawksnest tubing. They are snowboarding, skiing and tubing. It is a great day on any of the slopes. We are located in a great place as the slopes are very close to us. Beech Mountain is about a mile and Sugar is about 3 miles.
For those of you who like to sit inside and drink hot chocolate or hot tea, we have the perfect home to look outside and enjoy seeing mother nature at her finest. We start each day with a breakfast that will equip you for the days festivities. You may enjoy sitting by a fire reading, knitting or playing games.
There are several bands that are playing at Beech Mountain Brewery this season. This weekend is Sweet Sweet out of South Carolina. The Hampton Store has bands every weekend also.
Come and try our restaurants and enjoy the quaint town of Banner Elk or venture out to Boone or Blowing Rock. You will find that there are many cuisines in the area.
If you do not like to ski, you may enjoy the shopping we have here in Banner Elk. BJ’s is a favorite in town and The Dandelion at Tynecastle. We also have kitchen shops, design shoppes and gift shops in the area. For those who would like to venture out we have Blowing Rock and of course the Tanger Outlets.
