I am really excited about this years productions at Lees McRae College. The actors that travel to do the productions are always great. Having enjoyed seeing Mama Mia in New York, I am looking forward to a great evening of music and fun. This will be the first play of the season. The dates are June 27-July 3. From the Mountaintop, the story of Edgar Tufts, will be on July 11-July 17th. And to end the season will be a Broadway musical from Disney, Newsies, which will be from July 30-August 4. Also, The Forum begins on Monday nights. The entertainers that come in are exceptional. Please click on the link to read about the performances. It is one of my favorite things to do in the summers.
Update on our weather…. It is beginning to feel like spring, but at night there is a chill in the air. I love this time of year as the grass in turning green and the trees are beginning to have buds. This tells me that it isn’t long before we start utilizing the fire pit and enjoying the river. One of the things I enjoy is sitting by the fire pit and gaze at the lights that shine on the rocks in the river at night. It is so beautiful! Every night now, I go outside on my porch and look at the river and listen to the water as it rambles by. And, of course, with the warmer weather comes the bears that have been hibernating. We have some friends that live in Eagles Nest and she saw a mother and her three cubs. While I like seeing them other places, I am quite happy that we don’t see them here. I think because we have the lights and the fire roaring in the pit. I hope you will come and enjoy the tranquility that all of this offers. Don’t you think being out in nature gives you serenity?
