2019 is packed with special events bridging outdoor fun and sharing the wonders of Grandfather Mountain for guests of all ages.
The Nature Photography weekend is May 31-June 2 which will feature top nature photographers, while photographing scenery and native animals before and after business hours. Registration begins April 1at grandfather.com
The Remarkable Rhododendron Ramble June 1-8 There is a series of 20 minute walks that will highlight the rhododendron species and blooms.
Animal Birthday Party is June 12. Grandfather Mountain will celebrate the birthdays of all the animals in its environmental habitats with games , contest, crafts and surprises.
The 64th Grandfather Mountain Highland games from July 11-14. Bagpipes, Scottish athletics, Celtic cuisine, crafts and Highland melodies make this colorful celebration of Scottish culture one of the most highly acclaimed games in the country.
There are so many events that are planned from August- October. I will let you know when I get more information on the events.
The mountain is beginning to change over from winter to spring as the buds are coming out on the trees and the grass is green. This is one of my favorite seasons as the mountain takes on a new life. The bears are out, the deer are grazing on the grass and the birds are singing. What a great time it is in the North Carolina Mountains in the spring!
