We are open!

I am happy to say we have been open a few weeks and are ready to let everyone know.  We have had a few people at a time to see how our new B&B rules would work out.  I am pleased to say all is going well.  We are social distancing and we are all wearing masks and ask our guests to do so too.

Some of the changes at this point are:  I am not walking you to your room, but leaving  a key for you on the door.  We are not able to be six feet away if I go in your room.  Also, we are not serving wine at this time.  We are trying to not congregate in small groups.  The good news is we still have breakfast but that starts at 9:00am and there is no coffee bar at 8:00am for the same reasons as the wine.  Guest are seated six feet apart and if the weather allows, we are serving outside.  I still am available to help you with suggestions of things to do in the area and to make reservations for you also.

We now have the alpine ride open and it is a great success.  I would suggest to you to make reservations as the lines are quite long.  We have had guests that have been and say it is a lot of fun so please try it out.

Grandfather mountain is open by reservation also.  They are still allowing only so many guests on the mountain.  Please let me know if you would like me to help you with that.

Unfortunately, our 4th of July parade and all of the concerts on Thursday nights have been cancelled.  Banner Elk is an area that has not had many cases of the Covid 19 virus and they are still trying to stay cautious.  There is still a lot to do in Banner Elk and surrounding areas but anything with close proximity  to each other is not on the calendar this year.  The hiking is still a popular activity and right now the air is crisp and the trails and waterfalls are beautiful.

Many guests love to sit at the fire pit and have a glass of wine, while enjoying the river.  So many people comment on how they love the sound as it is so peaceful.  Our flowers are in bloom and the hummingbirds and butterflies are here.

As you know, we also have fly fishing.  Several guest have caught fish and said it made their trip.  We only do catch and release here so make sure you have the right equipment.  We also can set up a guide to take you on a float trip or can teach you how to fish back of the Lodge.

Hope you are all having a great summer!  Come and relax with us and enjoy the outdoors and all it offers.
