Can’t wait to tell you about the season coming up in Banner Elk. Of course it will involve snow and just to let you know, we have already had our first one. I would guess there are many to follow. According to the “Wooly Worm” winner,”Let’s go Brandon,”we will have the following weather…the first, third and fourth week of winter will be colder with snow and the second will be light frost and snow. So that being said, we should have a great snow season. Word has it, they will start making snow Thanksgiving Weekend.
Blowing Rock will have their Christmas parade Thanksgiving Weekend. Banner Elk will have ours the weekend after. There will be a day to see Santa, make crafts and begin the season. The parade is in the evening followed by taking the train around the park to see all of the lights. We will also have lighting of the tree, hot chocolate and singing carols at the square. I can tell you that Christmas in Banner Elk is like a Hallmark scene. The town is full of lights and has the charm of a small town Christmas.
Don’t forget to come and cut your own tree. It is fun to take the wagon up to pick out your perfect tree. They cut it and bag it and you take home a fresh tree. There is also places to get freshly made wreaths for your windows and doors. Don’t you just
